Learn at Home applies to PreK - 8th Grade Students.

Where can I access my child’s Learn at Home materials?

All Learn at Home materials will be uploaded and available on Warren’s Learn at Home webpage bit.ly/msdwarrenlearnathome.  We upload a schedule and lessons for the entire week so students and families can complete when it is most advantageous for their personal schedule.  The schedule serves as a guide for parents to plan for the week.

What is a choice board?

Choice boards are a one-page list of activities designed around each content area.  The purpose of a choice board is to give students options within each content area to stay engaged in academic work.  At a minimum, students should complete one activity per subject each week and share their work back with their teacher for feedback.  Students may choose to complete more than one activity for extended learning opportunities. Choice boards are created by using essential grade-level standards. Because we are in the 4th quarter, many of these skills have already been introduced and this serves as a review or reteach.

Are students expected to “turn in” work?

Yes, students should “turn in” their choice board activities and lesson assignments to their homeroom (PreK-4) or subject area teacher (5-8).  This can be accomplished in a variety of ways:

  • Email them directly to their teacher

  • Display their work to the teacher at a virtual meeting

  • Send a picture of their assignment using various communication platforms

Teachers will provide feedback on the work submitted.

How is my student’s attendance determined for Learn at Home?

All students are expected to engage in Learn At Home Activities to be marked present for the week.  We will be taking attendance on a weekly basis. As a reminder, Warren is using two waiver days per week (Mondays and Wednesdays).  When a student engages in Learn at Home activities they will be marked “present” for the week. We define engagement as meeting one or all of the following:

  • Submitting classroom assignments

  • Attending virtual class meetings

  • Communicating with teachers in any other format

What grades will my child receive for Learn at Home?

We will not be issuing 4th quarter grades for PreK-8 students, however, we will be providing academic feedback.  Our focus remains to stay connected with students and families during this worldwide health crisis. We realize that this is a unique and challenging time for all, and there is no possible way to replicate a traditional school model online.  We will provide a specific academic focus for students that prioritizes the most essential academic content to prepare them for the next grade level.

Who can I contact with questions about my student’s assignments

Your primary contact for questions about your student’s assignments should be the classroom teacher.  Teachers are available Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm to answer your questions. If you are unable to reach your student’s teacher, you can reach out to our eLearning/Learn at Home Hotline 317-608-0545 or email at MSDWarrenELearning@warren.k12.in.us.

What is the difference between virtual office hours and virtual community time?

Virtual office hours are times teachers are available online via Zoom for students, parents, and caregivers to connect with a teacher to answer questions.

Virtual community times are dedicated student virtual meetings for classrooms to meet together to make connections, learn from one another, and participate in activities virtually planned by your student’s homeroom/Core Connect Teacher.

What if my Warren issued device is not working or connecting?
