Superintendent Update

December 31, 2025

As we close out 2025 and welcome 2026, I want to thank our MSD Warren Township families, students, and staff for making this past year so special. Because of your partnership and support, our students experienced strong academic growth, and we achieved five-year highs in student attendance, third-grade reading, staff retention, and high school graduation. These milestones reflect the care, commitment, and the Eastside Pride our families, students, and staff bring to our schools every day, and they reinforce what is possible when we work together to develop resilient leaders, compassionate collaborators, effective communicators, critical thinkers, adaptable learners, and engaged community contributors.

The start of 2026 will be a busy one as we welcome students back on Tuesday, January 6th. Please remember that Monday, January 5th, is a professional development day for MSD Warren Township staff, and students will not be in session. The 2025-2026 school year calendar is linked here.

Enrollment Management / Redistricting Community Engagement

We look forward to holding our next Enrollment Management / Redistricting Community Engagement Work Session on Monday, January 5th, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Warren Education and Community Center, 975 North Post Road. We will be sharing updates on the process and boundary options for the 2026-2027 school year. You can attend in person or view it online using this link.

Winter Weather Closing and Delay Reminders

When precipitation, extreme temperatures, or other winter conditions create unsafe travel or operational challenges, we may need to delay the start of school, release early, or cancel school for the day. To help students, families, and staff prepare, we have created an Inclement Weather Information page, available on our District website and linked here.

As we head deeper into the winter months, please remember: if your child is in need of a warm coat, hat, gloves, or other cold-weather items, reach out to your school’s Family Engagement Liaison or teacher. Names and contact information for our Family Engagement Liaisons can be found on our district website. We are here to help ensure all students stay safe and warm this season.

From our Warren family to yours, we wish you a safe, healthy, and memorable New Year. Thank you for all you do to support our students, staff, and schools. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2026.

Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
